It’s finally here again: the Dutch New Herring has arrived, and of course, we won’t let that pass unnoticed. On Friday, June 20th from 3 PM, we’ll kick off the herring season in a festive way at Café the Plaza in Oranjestad with the annual event Herring Tasting. A tradition you absolutely must try. This iconic square will be transformed into a lively spot where fun, music, and flavor come together.
Expect a summery atmosphere with fresh herring of top quality, specially flown in from the Netherlands, served in the authentic Dutch way. Whether you’re a seasoned herring lover or trying it for the first time, this is your chance to join one of the most beloved culinary traditions from the Netherlands, right here on Aruba.
The party wouldn’t be complete without music. DJ Edje kicks off the evening and immediately gets you in the right mood with his cheerful beats. Then DJ Sky takes over with an energetic set that will make it impossible for you to stand still. As the cherry on top, the popular band Nfuzion will give a spectacular live performance that makes the night unforgettable.
Thirsty? Grab an ice-cold bucket deal with Chill or Balashi for just Afl 30. Perfect for enjoying with friends under the Aruban evening sky. For the youngest visitors, there’s a Dino Jump, so they can have plenty of fun too. Thanks to the shade sails and the outdoor bar, everyone can comfortably enjoy the festive atmosphere.
